Seeing More, Missing Less: Our Diagnostic Technology

Accurate diagnosis is the foundation of great dental care, and that starts with being able to see what the naked eye cannot. Toothology Dental uses digital X-rays that produce high-resolution images in a fraction of the time required by traditional film — while exposing patients to significantly less radiation. These images are instantly available on-screen, allowing Dr. Gorgan to review findings with you in real time and explain exactly what he’s seeing and why it matters.

For a more comprehensive view of your oral structures, we also utilize cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) imaging, which captures three-dimensional scans of your teeth, jaw, nerves, and surrounding bone. This level of detail is particularly valuable when planning dental implant treatment, assessing bone density, or evaluating complex restorative cases. With this technology in-house, treatment planning is more precise from the start — minimizing surprises and improving outcomes.

Comfort-First Treatment

Technology That Changes the Experience

Many patients associate dental visits with discomfort, but advances in treatment technology have changed what’s possible. Toothology Dental uses intraoral cameras — small, pen-sized devices that capture detailed video footage of the inside of your mouth — so Dr. Gorgan can thoroughly document and share findings in a way that’s easy to understand. Seeing your own teeth on a screen in real time takes the guesswork out of treatment discussions and helps you feel genuinely informed about your care.

For restorative and cosmetic dentistry procedures, our digital impression technology eliminates the need for traditional putty-based molds. Patients simply sit comfortably while a digital scan captures precise measurements of their teeth, which are then used to design crowns, veneers, or other restorations with exceptional accuracy. The result is restorations that fit better, look more natural, and require fewer adjustment appointments — saving you time without compromising quality.

How Our Technology Benefits Every Type of Visit

Preventive Care

During routine cleanings and exams, digital X-rays and intraoral cameras allow Dr. Gorgan to detect early signs of decay, gum disease, or structural changes before they become larger problems. Early detection is central to our whole-body approach to oral health — and the right tools make it possible.

Restorative Procedures

Whether you’re receiving a crown, a filling, or a more involved restorative treatment, our digital workflow improves precision at every stage. Detailed scans feed directly into the planning process, reducing the margin for error and supporting restorations that integrate naturally into your smile.

Implant Planning

Dental implant placement requires exact knowledge of your bone structure, nerve pathways, and jaw anatomy. Our CBCT imaging and digital treatment planning tools allow Dr. Gorgan to map out implant positioning with precision before a single incision is made.

YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED

FAQS

Are digital X-rays safe?

Yes. Digital X-rays emit significantly less radiation than traditional film X-rays — up to 80–90% less in some comparisons. They are considered extremely safe for adults and children, and Dr. Gorgan will only recommend imaging when it’s clinically necessary.

Do I need to do anything differently to prepare for a visit that uses digital technology?

No special preparation is needed. Our technology is designed to integrate seamlessly into your appointment without adding time or complexity on your end. Intraoral scans, for example, are quick, comfortable, and require no special steps beforehand.

Does better technology mean higher costs?

Not necessarily. Advanced technology often makes treatment more efficient — which can reduce the number of appointments needed and lower the overall cost of care over time. Toothology Dental also offers flexible financing through CareCredit, Cherry, and Alfion to help make your care accessible regardless of your situation.
